HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Huntsville police are investigating a shooting into an occupied home that was shortly followed by a crash late Sunday night.

The victim told police when she arrived at her home on the 3600 block of Patton Road and exited her car, her ex-boyfriend approached her, wanting to talk. The victim said she ran away and went into her apartment. As she was going in her front door, she said she heard gunshots. This happened around 11 p.m.

Police said four bullet holes were found in the front window of the victim's apartment.

Officers said the man left in a car and wrecked on Belvoir Drive. Police found the overturned car and injured man around 11:45 p.m. Someone who lives in the area said he saw the man trying to turn the car right side up.

HEMSI took the man to Huntsville Hospital with life threatening injuries. A crime scene investigator was called to the scene. No one has been arrested yet.
