JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -
An Altoona man is accused of coming to Jefferson County to meet a 15-year-old girl for sex.
Billy Jason Rigsby is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $90,000 bond. He has been charged with soliciting by computer and traveling to meet a child for sex. Gardendale Police Detective Kyle Pannell says Rigsby met the girl through a social media site.
Rigsby is listed as a representative for the Blount County Youth Basketball League on their Facebook page. The league's vice president, Michael Wright, released this statement:
"I just spoke with Randy Fallin our leauge [sic] president about this matter. This is very shocking for us to hear. As far as his actions in this it is unacceptable and has hereby been suspended from any envolvement or affiliations with us and our basketball leauge [sic]."
