(WMC) - ANDY, WILL IT WORK? The Hail Protector = WISE BUY!

Mother nature might have just met her match.

Your auto insurance premiums might have found their weight loss plan.

Because they should slim down when The Hail Protector blows up.

The Hail Protector comes in six sizes -- from a compact car to a dually pickup with crew cab -- ranging from $299 to $399.

The vehicle cover is made of a breathable polyester, weighted fabric. Combined with its portable, constant air flow system, it expands to a barrier that will withstand any size of hail, according to its inventor Michael Siciliano.

"We've tested it beyond what the largest reported hailstone in the world has produced," Siciliano said. "It was about the size of a football."

The system includes early "morning" (instead of warning) email/text alerts about incoming weather that may include hail, a portable battery pack and auto utility adapter. With a fully charged AA-battery pack, its auto accessory (as much as a 3-hour life, according to Siciliano) and The Hail Protector wrapped around your vehicle, Siciliano said punch the remote button -- and it will inflate to protect your car's entire body.

"Within five minutes, they're stopping anything Mother Nature's got to produce," he said.

We threw everything we had at it: 5-pound watermelons, a 5-pound medicine ball, 3-pound cantaloupes and a bucket of softballs from a 3-story drop, right on top of The Hail Protector.

It prevented damage every time.

From a 10-foot distance, I threw a bucket of baseballs at the passenger side of our covered Nissan Versa. I threw them as hard as I could -- really humming those fastballs. Yes, from 10 feet.

Not one dented door. Not one broken window.

The Hail Protector simply absorbs the projectiles' velocity.

Not even a truck-mounted air cannon firing golf balls at 80 miles an hour could penetrate The Hail Protector.

Very impressive!

The Hail Protector = WISE BUY!

Hailstorm damage claims jumped 84 percent between 2010 and 2012, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB).
