MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Montgomery police have arrested a man and charged him with leaving the scene of an accident.

Patrick Murphy, 50, of Pike Road was arrested following two crashes within minutes of each other on Chantilly Parkway May 19.

At 8 p.m., Murphy's Nissan Frontier hit the back of a Hyundai Accent that was stopped at a red light on Chantilly Parkway at Ryan Road, and Murphy left the scene, according to police.

A short time later, Murphy hit the back of a Honda Odyssey that was stopped in traffic on Chantilly Parkway between Vaughn Road and Timber Creek Drive. The collision caused a chain reaction with two additional vehicles, a Volkswagen Jetta and a Lexus GS300, stopped in traffic. Four people, including Murphy, were transported to Baptist South Medical Center after the collisions.
