A motorcycle rider was killed in a crash in Cullman on Wednesday.
State troopers said 58-year-old Jerry Ulmer Kendall was killed when his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old man on Highway 31 at Golf Course Road.
Kendall, who went by "Jay," and who was Postmaster in Vinemont, was pronounced dead at the scene. The teen was not injured.
State Troopers have taken over the investigation because the teenager is related to a Cullman police officer.
Troopers said use of an electronic communication device while driving was a factor.
