DIXIE INN, LA (KSLA) -

A dine and dash at an ArkLaTex restaurant cost a single mom a big chunk of her paycheck.

The $42 check her guests left after they ate and left The Crawfish Hole #2 without paying had to be paid with Sara Fink's money. As it is, Fink works two jobs to keep food on the table for her 8-year-old daughter.

"It was an older couple," Fink said. "They ate and were ready to pay so I was adding up their ticket. He came up to the computers and was asking if his wife could go up to the ATM and get the cash. I handed him his ticket with the total on it and I never saw him after that"

Having to pay for someone else's actions is heartbreaking for her.

"I'm a single mom," Fink said. "I do what I can to save up from my daily pay and to pay the bills and to provide, feed her and everything."

And her check that day likely would have gone to pay part of a bill or for dinner.

"It's really just heartbreaking because you work your butt of pretty much and you get people like that you have to pay for and it's just disappointing.

"During the day I don't make much," she said. "It's busier at night here than it is during the day. That night without that $42 I made probably $100."

The Dixie Inn Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying the couple who didn't pay up. If you know them call 318-377-0238.
