HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Police said an armed robbery early Sunday morning led to a robber firing a shot into an occupied apartment.

Officers said the robbery happened on the 3800 block of Squaw Valley Drive around 12:50 a.m. The three victims said they were outside of their apartment, smoking a cigarette, when three males armed with handguns approached them and demanded their property.

As the victims were giving them their property, police said one of the robbers fired his gun into the air, hitting a window in another apartment, which was occupied.

Officers said the three robbers then fled the scene. The victims were not injured, and this case is still under investigation.
