HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Huntsville is ready to host, for the 35th time, the Cotton Row Run.

Event organizers said they expect more than 5,000 people to participate in this year's series of runs.

The Cotton Row Run is one of the largest events in the city and requires multiple road closures to keep runners safe. Huntsville Police will direct traffic at intersections along the route throughout the event.

Registrants were able to pick up their race packets Sunday at the Von Braun Center. Late packet pickup will take place Monday at the event from 6-6:45 a.m.

Charities supported by the race include the U.S. Army Survivor Outreach Services, Alabama Gold Star Families and the North Alabama Veterans & Fraternal Organizations Coalition.

Festivities kick off at 7 a.m. Monday. Click here to view the spectator flyer provided by event organizers.
