HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A woman told police she was punched in the face during a robbery at 2 a.m. Monday.

Huntsville police said the victim called them from Crestwood Hospital to report the robbery.

The victim told officers she was pumping gas at the Wavaho Gas Station on Pulaski Pike when an unknown male approached her, asking for change. The victim said she agreed to give him some change and turned to get it out of the car. When she turned back around, the victim said the robber punched her in the face and took her wallet.

Officers said the robber was last seen running towards the Home Depot parking lot. Police said the victim drove herself to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police couldn't locate the robber. No one has been arrested yet, and this investigation is ongoing.
