BESSEMER, AL (WBRC) -

Police say an armed man dressed as a woman, wearing a bandana and big sunglasses, robbed the Sally Beauty Supply in Bessemer on Saturday.

The suspect allegedly demanded money and purses from the customers in the beauty supply store on Academy Drive. Police say he also threatened to kill the people inside.

Officers were dispatched to the store a little after 5 p.m. saw the suspect approaching the front door, armed with a handgun, Lt. Darron Hunter said.

Hunter said the man ran out a back door, down an alley, jumped a fence and took off down a wooded trail toward the Cedar Creek Town Homes.

A woman in a maroon Buick Lasaber was waiting for the suspect and tried to drive out of the parking lot, but police stopped the car and took both suspects into custody.

Police identified the male suspect as Mornterieus Densmore, 24. The female driver is identified as Tiffany Brianna Hill, 21.

Both Densmore and Hill have been charged with first degree robbery and have bonds of $60,000 each. Police say they expect to file more charges in the case later this week.
