SHEFFIELD, AL (WAFF) -

A fast food employee allegedly smoking pot on the job is in trouble, along with his co-worker.

It happened at the Jack's location on Montgomery Avenue in Sheffield last week. A viewer said a post on Instagram depicted an employee smoking pot inside the restaurant's cooler.

The Instagram account associated with the photo has since been deleted.

The restaurant's general manager was shown the photos and said they were also notified about the incident and were investigating. She couldn't comment on the case specifically.

A spokesperson from the corporate office issued a statement about the incident:

Earlier this afternoon, Jack's Family Restaurants, Inc. was made aware of a video posted to an internet site that purportedly shows an individual Jack's employee engaging in behavior that Jack's does not tolerate to any degree whatsoever regardless of whether the conduct occurs on or away from Jack's premises.

We take pride in employing the finest group of guest-centered employees in our industry and our employees are held accountable to meet high expectations. Upon learning of the alleged conduct earlier today, Jack's immediately initiated an investigation to further determine what occurred as well as to assess the remedial measures that are appropriate under the circumstances. Those measures will be implemented upon completion of the investigation.

Because this is a personnel issue involving the alleged behavior of an individual employee, Jack's will not comment further regarding this matter.
