LEE COUNTY, AL (WTVM) -

Authorities say 23-year-old Dequavious Demond Cobb is behind bars after being accused of assault and manslaughter.

Just before 4 a.m. on Sunday, May 11, the Lee County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call reporting a possible shooting at Meadowview Trailer Park in Auburn, Ala.

Deputies arrived on the scene to find a male victim, 36-year-old Mark Anthony Greathouse, had been shot multiple times. Greathouse was transported to East Alabama Medical Center, and was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.

A Post Mortem Examination at the Department of Forensic Sciences revealed that Greathouse had suffered gunshot wounds to the head and left arm.

Witnesses at the scene said Greathouse had gotten involved in an argument prior to the shooting, and produced a hand gun that he was armed with at the time.

A manslaughter warrant was issued for Cobb's arrest after authorities discovered evidence linking him to Greathouse's shooting. An Assault in the Third Degree charge was issued due to an unrelated incident that occurred in Auburn Police Department's jurisdiction.

Auburn Police arrested Cobb on Tuesday, May 27. Cobb is currently being held in the Lee County Detention Facility on a $25,500 bond.

Authorities ask anyone with further information about this crime to contact Lee County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-522-7847 or the Lee County Sheriff's Office at 1-334-749-5651.
