Director of at-risk youth program faces sexual abuse charges in Etowah County

ETOWAH COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

The director for an at-risk youth program is facing sexual abuse charges in Etowah County.

After interviewing a 15-year-old, Rainbow City Police arrested Phillip Gramling on a charge of second degree sexual abuse.

Gramling is director of the Star Program in nearby Cherokee County, which helps at-risk youth transition back into high school or GED programs.

Police plan to interview additional youth in the coming days.

    The Federal Aviation Administration's announcement late Wednesday comes nearly a year after the engine's manufacturer recommended the additional inspections, and a month after European regulators ordered their airlines to do the work.
