HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A single-vehicle wreck in Huntsville late Wednesday night left a man in critical condition.

Emergency crews responded around 10:45 p.m. to Four Mile Post Road south of Valley View Way. Police said a Dodge pickup truck left the roadway and hit a utility pole. According to authorities, the driver of the truck was trapped inside the vehicle.

Police identified the driver as Eric David Harrison. He was transported to Huntsville Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police said Harrison was the only person inside the truck at the time of the wreck.

Huntsville Police Department's Traffic Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene and are investigating the cause of the wreck, which is normal in wrecks with life-threatening injuries.
