3 LAMP students make perfect score on ACT

Loveless Academic Magnet Program High, or LAMP, is celebrating big achievements with the announcement that three of its students scored perfect 36s on their ACTs.

The students are Corey Janson, Joshua Lambert, and Ruchir Rastogi.

In addition to the three perfect scores, other students excelled on the test with 38 students placing a high score of 30 or above in the junior class. The national average for the test is 20.9 and less than one-tenth of one percent score perfect.

The ACT is broken up into four sections: English, reading, math and science, with an optional writing portion. Each of the four sections has a grading scale from 1 to 36 and the average score from all the tests is the final or overall score.

High standards are nothing new to LAMP, which is currently ranked as the 18th best public high school in the United States by U.S. News and World Report.
