Traffic being rerouted from Madison Ave. after fire

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Traffic is being rerouted from 1600 block of Madison Ave as Montgomery fire and rescue work to put out a house fire. Officials are advising at this time that motorists seek alternative routes.

The fire occurred on the 1600 block of Madison Avenue between Lewis street and South Capitol parkway. When firefighters arrive don the scene heavy smoke showing from the outside of the home.

One person was treated for second degree burns to her hands and chest. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

No additional injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains unknown.
