TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

A 13-year-old Tuscaloosa girl missing since April 27 returned to Alabama with her mother on Friday.

Jovana Hill was believed to be in the company of a 24-year-old man who had warrants for second degree rape and second degree sodomy issued against him in February.

The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office said the Houston Police Department notified them and U.S. Marshals late Friday afternoon that Jovana and her mother had landed at the Houston Airport on a flight from Mexico. Their final destination was the Birmingham International Shuttlesworth Airport.

The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's office and U.S. Marshals traveled to Birmingham and brought Jovana and her mother to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office. The teen was interviewed and returned to the custody of her mother late Friday night.

No information surrounding her disappearance and how she was found was available.
