BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Birmingham Fire Chief Ivor Brooks will be laid to rest Monday.

Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Monday, one day after friends and family paid their respects during visitation.

Services will take place at 16th Street Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Zion Memorial Gardens.

Chief Brooks died last Wednesday after suffering a heart attack.

Brooks joined the department in 1982. He is survived by his wife Joyce and four children.
