HOUSTON CO., AL (WSFA) -

The Houston County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in an attempted jail break that occurred in February.

Sheriff Andy Hughes says that 29-year-old Christopher Lee Crumpton, of Eufaula, was arrested and charged with permitting/aiding an escape, promoting prison contraband, possession of burglary tools, and third degree burglary.

The charges stem from an investigation of an attempted jail break at the Houston County Jail on February 6. Authorities say that Crumpton allegedly attempted to break Richard Bryan Parish out of the jail.

Crumpton is being held on bond set at $400,000.

The investigation is still ongoing and there is a possibility of additional arrest.
