Lane closure planned on Hwy 31 June 2-7

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

ALDOT will shut down one lane on Highway 31 in order to widen some turn lanes June 2-7.

Officials say that from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night from June 2-7, the southbound outside lane of Highway 31 from the I-459/Highway 31 interchange (mile marker 264) to the Jefferson/Shelby county line (mile post 262).

Workers will widen turn lanes and remove concrete island noses in this stretch.

ALDOT urges motorists to use caution in the area and consider an alternate route.
