The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says neighbors in Pinson were able to stop a burglary in progress and hold the suspect until deputies arrived.

Around 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, deputies responded to a burglary call at a vacant home in the 5000 block of Gold Leaf Lane. At the scene, an off-duty Tarrant police officer and another neighbor were holding the suspect at gun point.

Deputies were told that one neighbor had seen the suspect pull up the home and go to the rear. The neighbor said he could see the suspect going from room to room. The Tarrant officer was alerted by the first neighbor about the suspect. The two men stopped the suspect as he was exiting the house through the front door.

29-year-old Noah Carter was charged with third degree burglary and was placed in the Jefferson County Jail on an $8,000 bond.
