An 18-year-old man is under arrest and charged with attempted murder following a weekend shooting, according to Troy Police Chief Jimmy Ennis.

Ennis' office is not releasing the suspect's name or mug shot at this time because he may be eligible for youthful offender status.

The shooting happened around 12:15 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Tate Street. Investigators say one victim was transported to an area hospital by a friend. That person suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg.

The suspect was arrested at the Troy Police Department, processed at the city jail and then transfered to the Pike County Jail where his is being held on a $100,000 bond.
