BILLINGSLEY, AL (WSFA) -

The Alabama Department of Public Safety says a single-vehicle crash Monday, June 2, claimed the life of a New Carlisle, Ind., man.

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. Monday on U.S. 82 one mile west of Billingsley, but wasn't discovered until 11 a.m. Tuesday morning, according to Alabama State Trooper Sgt. Steve Jarrett.

The victim, Ronald Williamson, 52, was killed when the 2007 Freightliner he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree. Authorities say Williamson was not wearing a seat belt.

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
