MADISON COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Madison County Sheriff's department has identified the body of the motorcyclist who drowned in Lake Caroline as 27-year-old Michael Tait Hendrix, a cross fit instructor.

Hendrix was riding his motorcycle when he was involved in an accident and ended up in the water.

His body was pulled from Lake Caroline earlier this afternoon.

The Madison County Sheriff's Department says Hendrix bike was found wrecked on Bellevue Drive around 4:30 Wednesday morning.

Chief Deputy Jeremy Williams said, "Deputies began a search walking up Bellevue Drive, on the dam at Lake Caroline.  Evidence led them to believe the individual was ejected off the motorcycle and was in the water."

Investigators began searching the area, and quickly determined that the motorcycle rider had gone into the lake.

Hendrix body was recovered from the lake around 12:30 Wednesday afternoon.

"Accident re constructionists are on the scene beginning to take measurements, and work the accident.  The motorcycle was traveling this direction (South) towards the clubhouse," said Williams.

Michael Hendrix was on his way to work as a fitness instructor at Coyote Crossfit in Madison when the accident happened.

He also played baseball at Milsaps, and spent a year as a football and baseball coach at Jackson Prep.
