Troy graduate selected for Japan Exchange and Teaching Program

TROY, AL (WSFA) -

A recent graduate of Troy University has been selected to take part in the Japan Exchange and Teaching, also known as the JET Program.

John Michael Wilson, from Dothan, graduated in May with a bachelor's in Business Administration and will have the opportunity to spend one year as an assistant language teacher in Ena-shi, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. Wilson will leave on July 26 and will spend one year on the other side of the Pacific Ocean.

The program encourages college graduates to come to Japan to teach English and engage in international exchange activities as a "Cultural Ambassador" or the United States. Participants experience Japan through daily activities at schools and local governments.

Participants receive a stipend and round-trip airfare to Japan.
