HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

It's a crime that involves a phone, in more ways than one.

A woman blatantly steals a man's phone in a grocery store. And you can use your phone to "cash in" on this crime by helping to solve it in this week's Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers.

This happened at the Kroger on Drake Avenue in Huntsville May 10.

Two women, including our cell phone thief, waited at the self-checkout counter.

The victim in front of them checked out and accidentally left his cell phone behind.

The woman in line behind the man, who was wearing shorts and a white jacket, blatantly grabbed the phone and put it in her pocket.

And this became even more bizarre when the victim went back into the store looking for it.

The two women, including the one who put it in her pocket, were still in the store. In fact, she was talking on the phone just a few feet away from the victim.

A loss prevention officer even joined in the search, but the thief actually was talking on that cell phone, eventually walked away, then walked out of the store.

And we get a pretty good look at her on surveillance video.

If you know who this brazen thief is, there's up to a thousand dollars in reward money with your name on it. And like our suspect, all you have to do is use the phone.

You can phone in your anonymous tips to 256-53-CRIME (27463). Or to text or e-mail an anonymous tip, head to our Crime Stoppers page for details.
