HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Huntsville police said a victim's ex-girlfriend quickly went from trying to slash tires to slashing him early Saturday morning.

Police said they were notified by Huntsville Hospital about a subject suffering multiple knife wounds on his arm, chest and side. Upon arrival and interviewing the victim, officers said they discovered the incident happened at Creek Bend Terrace Apartments around 2:15 a.m.

The victim, Demetrius Mitchell, told police that his girlfriend, Latisha Taylor, had a knife and was trying to stab his motorcycle's tires. He said he tried to stop her, so she began stabbing him instead. When police asked why she would do this, he told them his now ex-girlfriend had seen him with another girl at a club earlier and had become very angry.

Police responded to the apartment and found the crime scene, but the ex-girlfriend had already left and couldn't be found. Hospital staff said the victim's injuries didn't look life threatening.

Taylor is now in the Morgan County Jail charged with first degree domestic assault with a bond set at $10,000.
