WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Police have located a suspect in connection to a shooting in Wilmington that sent one man to the hospital.

According to Sgt. Ingram with WPD, shot spotter technology alerted authorities to five shots fired near 13th and Greenfield Streets, near the Houston Moore community, around 2:50 p.m. Saturday.

When police arrived, they found a male victim in his late thirties with a gun shot wound to the leg. He's recovering at New Hanover Regional Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, according to Ingram.

According to Ingram, the victim would not cooperate with authorities and wouldn't say what happened.

Ingram said they have located a suspect but have not made an arrest at this point. Police are still working to gather more information in order to obtain an official arrest warrant.

One witness told police that they saw the victim fighting with another person when the shots were fired and the suspect took off running.

Police also found a bullet hole in a parked car near by.
