Tickets for LumenoCity 2014, the popular light show and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra experience in Washington Park, were reserved Monday morning in a matter of minutes.

Due to an overwhelming response in 2013, the symphony expanded this year's free concert event to three dates: August 1-3.

Approximately 12,500 tickets for each night were available to reserve beginning at 8 a.m. The symphony posted on Facebook and Twitter as soon as the tickets sold out:

"Wow, Cincinnati! The response was tremendous. #LUMENOCITY is at capacity for all three performances and it only took 13 minutes. Keep following us on Facebook and Twitter throughout the summer for information about standby and possible ticket releases."

In addition, symphony officials reminded the public that LumenoCity is a free event. Any tickets "for sale" online are not valid, as these sellers do not yet have tickets to sell. Three pairs of LumenoCity tickets have shown up on eBay for up to $199.

Councilman David Mann said he plans to introduce a motion in council to ensure as many Cincinnatians as possible can experience LumenoCity this summer.

"We move that the Administration investigate the offering of free LumenoCity tickets to the public on June 9th, 2014, and report back to Council, including on any problems that occurred, illegal buying or selling of "free" tickets, and provide recommendations on how best to ensure all members of the public – including all neighborhoods and income ranges – have an opportunity to avail themselves of any opportunities to get tickets to this extraordinary performance in the future," Mann's statement read.

Chris Pinelo with Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra told FOX19 on Monday evening that more tickets will be available throughout the summer.

The concert performances will begin at 8:30 p.m. each night with John Morris Russell conducting the Cincinnati Pops. After a brief intermission, Music Director Louis Langrée will lead the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra for a 40-minute display of sound and light.
