City Leaders hope FGL concert brings more big named performers

City leaders say the Florida Georgia Line concert was a big hit as thousands of people showed up at Riverwalk Stadium on Saturday.

Fans hope it's just the first of many more to come.

People were lined up for hours, eager to hear their favorite artists Nelly, Chris Lane, and of course Florida Georgia Line.

"I love Florida Georgia line," said one fan. "They are the best."

"They are good song writers and I love them," said another fan.

Even though he's rather new to the music scene, up and coming singer Chris Lane says there's nothing like performing in front of a big crowd.

"I am very grateful for the opportunity that Florida Georgia line asked me out on this tour," Lane said. "It is seriously the biggest party of the summer and I'm having a blast."

As far as being in Montgomery, Lane says the capital city is on the top of the list when it comes to outstanding city and venue.

"Montgomery has one of the best ball parks that we played in thus far," Lane said. "The facilities are awesome. We've been taking some batting practice, did a little workout and had a ping pong tournament. It's been a fun day."

Residents are thrilled about the concert because it's not only entertaining, but it's helping the economy thrive. And now they are just hoping this will prove to the music industry Montgomery is the hot spot for concerts.

"It will give us a lot of recognition and will also help the economy," said a fan.

The city is already working with a promotions company to potentially bring in big name acts on a regular basis.
