MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Groups of soccer fans gathered across the area Monday night to watch Team USA's first game of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. USA beat Ghana 2-1.

The Montgomery Chapter of the American Outlaws U.S. Soccer supporters organization filled The Tipping Point restaurant in Hampstead to watch the game.

There was also a big crowd tailgating in downtown Auburn Monday night for the game. TVs were set up in the Gay Street municipal parking lot. Residents brought chairs and wore their red, white and blue.

The Auburn Soccer Association also had soccer games and demonstrations for children.
