Man charged after high-speed chase in Selma

A man is facing multiple charges after a high-speed chase in Selma Saturday.

According to the police department, an officer tried to stop Earl Dennis, 24, of Selma, on Water Avenue for driving recklessly around 11 p.m. A high-speed chase started and last for about 15 minutes across eastern and southern Selma.

Dennis allegedly hit a police car during the chase. The pursuit eventually ended on Eisenhower Street in the Selmont area.

Dennis was captured after a foot pursuit, according to police.

He's been charged with criminal mischief first degree, reckless driving, no insurance and attempting to elude.

He was booked in the Dallas County Jail and his bond was set at $18,000.
