Recommendations will include proposals on redistricting and primaries, filibuster reform, campaign finance and the nominations process

WASHINGTON, June 23, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Bipartisan Policy Center's Commission on Political Reform will release Governing in a Polarized America: A Bipartisan Blueprint to Strengthen our Democracy, a report that contains a series of concrete recommendations to improve how we run elections and how Congress legislates even with a divided government and partisan gridlock in Washington and across the country.

The report will be released tomorrow, Tuesday, June 24, at 10:00AM ET at the Newseum. Former Senate Majority Leaders Tom Daschle and Trent Lott, former Senator Olympia Snowe and former Secretary Dan Glickman – all co-chairs of the commission - will unveil the report's recommendations and take questions.

The commission will call for specific reforms in three areas: the electoral process, including redistricting and campaign finance; the process by which Congress legislates, including filibuster reforms; and how Americans can engage in politics through public service. Over the past 18 months, the 29 commissioners have engaged the American public as part of their deliberations.
