MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Reinhardt Motors received an Environmental Stewardship Award, for the second time in two years, from Orion Energy Systems after upgrading interior and exterior lighting in their Toyota dealership.

This upgrade is expected to reduce lighting energy consumption by more than 65 percent and indirectly removes 107 tons of carbon dioxide each year from the atmosphere.

The majority of the savings are from replacing 1000 watt high-intensity discharge exterior fixtures with Orion's next generation high efficiency T5 fluorescent technology that uses 300 watts. This also helps keep harmful greenhouse gases from entering the atmosphere.

"There are three principal reasons we chose to invest in the Orion lighting technology again –
business value, customers experience and the environment stewardship. Anytime a business
can reduce a fixed cost by 65%, improve the customer experience and enhance environment
stewardship it becomes a very easy decision." Reinhardt Motors President, Mike Reinhardt said.

"Our new Lexus and Toyota store that is currently under construction incorporates the very
best in energy savings, customer experience and environmental stewardship," added Reinhardt. "So it made perfect sense for us to invest in the very best in electricity savings and lighting quality at our existing Toyota dealership."
