Dale Co. Sheriffs arrest man on theft and drug charges

DALE CO., AL, (WSFA) -

An Ozark man has been arrested in connection to an investigation into complaints of stolen scrap metal.

Dale County Investigators arrested Carlton Deese Jr., following an investigation where they received multiple complaints of stolen scrap metal throughout the county.

During the investigation, Deese was developed as a suspect, and was spotted by Sheriff Olson who was on patrol. The Sheriff spotted Deese pulling into a victim's property on South County Road 59 near Midland City.

Deese was taken into custody after he reportedly attempted to steal scrap metal from the property where he was spotted. During the arrest, Deese was found to be in possession of additional stolen property from other thefts as well as methamphetamine.

Deese was charged with one count of first degree theft of property, two counts of second degree theft of property, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Deese is being held on bond set at $105,000 with possible additional charges forthcoming.
