MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Montgomery Police Department has made an arrest in connection to the Friday night shooting that left a man dead.

Police say that 30-year-old David Soles is being charged with one count of murder after he turned himself in to detectives on Sunday.

The Montgomery Police Department initiated the homicide investigation after a 24-year-old man was shot and killed on Friday.

Police say they responded to Jackson Hospital around 10:30 p.m. on a report of a subject suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. The subject, who was identified as Richard Davis of Montgomery, later died from his injuries.

Authorities believe that the shooting stemmed from an argument between the two men.

Davis was reportedly also a victim in the shooting at the Centennial Bar and Grill that left three people dead in December.

Family and friends held a vigil for Davis on Saturday, where they hoped to spread a message in order to stop the violence.

"When are we going to stop this murder, when are our parents going to stand-up on the behalf of this community and our children?" said Dorian Mays, a family friend of Davis. "Yes this is a tragedy, but we can change these things into a triumph by coming together in our community. This black-on-black crime has got to stop."

That is all the information that has been released by police as they continue to investigate. We will keep you up to date as we learn more.

If anyone has any information relating to this case, call Crime Stoppers at 215-STOP, the secret witness line at 262-4000 or the Montgomery Police Department at 625-2831.
