Auburn police arrest 17-year-old for burglary and theft

AUBURN, AL (WSFA) -

The Auburn Police Division arrested a 17-year-old juvenile from Auburn on Monday, and charged him with burglary third degree and theft of property second degree.

A report of burglary was filed with police on Sunday at a residence in the 200 block of Rosalie Court. An investigation determined that an unknown individual forcibly entered the residence between June 20 and 22 and stole a handgun, video game consol and an iPod valued at $900.

During the investigation, Auburn Police determined the 17-year-old was a suspect after recovering the handgun from the juvenile's residence. The other items were found nearby.

The juvenile was transported to Lee County Youth Development Center and is awaiting a detention hearing.
