MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Dexter Avenue in front of the Alabama Capitol was transformed into a movie set Friday.
Film crews and actors shot the final scene of the movie "Selma" -- the last leg of the Selma to Montgomery March in 1965. On Thursday, crews put a lot of work into preparing the stage for the actor portraying Martin Luther King Jr.
Spectators gathered downtown throughout the day Friday hoping to catch a glimpse of stars like Oprah Winfrey. Winfrey is playing the role of Anne Lee Cooper who reportedly confronted then sheriff James Clark for not being able to vote.
Gov. Robert Bentley also took a tour of the set.
