MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Alabama Department of Transportation says the construction project at Perry Hill Road on Interstate 85 is approximately 71 percent complete.

The project is on schedule to be completed by Nov. 21, according to ALDOT spokesperson Linda Crockett.

The bridges over I-85 have been widened to the outside, and the contractor is currently working on the inside widening.

Grading of the new loop ramp is ongoing, Crockett adds, as well as the relocation and extension of the northbound on ramp onto I-85.

The new loop ramp will allow travelers going south on Perry Hill Road to travel to I-85 North without having to make the left turn.

The relocation and extension of the existing northbound ramp will be utilized by travelers going north on Perry Hill Road to go north onto I-85.

Work is also ongoing for the new traffic signals as well as the new roadway lighting.
