Country star Miranda Lambert talks with WSFA 12 News

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

She has a golden voice and she wants to lend it to the dogs.

Grammy award-winning country music star Miranda Lambert spoke with WSFA 12 News during our 11 a.m. community events show Alabama Live! about a cause she's passionate for.

Lambert, who loves dogs and has adopted six of her own, is working to transform the lives of shelter dogs across the United States by raising awareness of the shelters that support them.

She wants to improve shelter conditions across the country and get pets into loving homes by teaming with PEDIGREE® to provide one shelter in each state with food and a makeover.

Lambert also talked about her newly released album Platinum.

Lambert, who is married to fellow country star Blake Shelton, is the reigning four-time CMA and first ever reigning five-time ACM Female Vocalist of the Year.

Her last album, Four The Record, made history when it debuted atop Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, making Miranda the first country artist in the 47-year history of the chart to have each of her first four albums debut at # 1.

All four of those albums have also been certified Platinum, which is the name of her fifth studio album which was released on June 3rd. The first single off of Platinum, "Automatic," is Miranda's highest charting first week single to date.
