PIKE ROAD, AL (WSFA) -

The recently appointed leader of the Pike Road school system answered questions from the community at town hall tonight.

Dr. Suzanne Freeman talked to the community about the potential for their children and Pike Road schools.

She says there are still tactical issues to figure out like transportation and school construction but says the people of the community will help the system excel.

"This community has been very excited about creating a school system. They have big goals. They have a big dream for their children," Freeman said. "They don't want to be just a good, average school system, but they want to be a great school system, and they want all children to soar to new levels."

Freeman's first official day on the job will be July 1.
