MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board's efforts to find and destroy illegal moonshine operations continues to find new targets.

Friday, the ABC announced its discovery of two illegal stills in Barbour County, along with numerous marijuana plants near the Alabama River in rural Clarke County.

The stills are being targeted by the Moonshine Task Force, formed by the ABC.

The Task Force found the two stills hidden in a wooded area along Rocky Mount Church Road, approximately 10 miles outside Eufaula. This case, like others, was formed after area residents contacted authorities to investigate the stills.

ABC agents found the first still on Wednesday. It was empty but believed to be operational. The second was found a half-mile away. Its cooker held 15 gallons of moonshine, according to authorities.

Earlier in the week, Task Force members found 16 marijuana plants in a wooded area of the Chance Community in Clarke County after receiving tips.

No arrests have been made in either case, though several suspects have been identified in the ongoing investigation.

Those looking to provide information to authorities on these cases, or other illegal activity, can call the ABC Board Hotline 1-800-327-7341.
