COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

A Columbus mother tells police she found an unknown man tapping on her 6-year-old daughter's window in the middle of the night.

The incident happened on June 28 on 17th Street. The woman says she went outside to the back of the house to investigate the noise, and that's when an unknown man stood up near the window and shoved her to the ground before running away.

Police later arrested the suspect, identified as 57-year-old Byron Diggs. He is charged with criminal trespass, simple battery, and possession of a controlled substance.
