MILFORD, OH (FOX19) -

A man was taken into custody Monday afternoon following a slow-speed police chase down Columbia Parkway.

Authorities said the pursuit began around noon on eastbound Columbia Parkway (Route 50/Wooster Pike) in the Fairfax area. A male driver reportedly passed an officer going approximately 60 miles per hour in a 45 miles per hour zone.

When the officer attempted to pull him over, police said the man continued at about 40 miles per hour down Columbia Parkway.

Once inside Milford city limits, stop sticks were used by officers to flatten the vehicles' tires. The suspect's vehicle eventually hit a curb along Main Street (U.S. 50) and struck the back of a Fairfax police cruiser.

Authorities said the male driver had warrants out for his arrest at the time of the incident and was driving under suspension. A crack pipe was also found in the vehicle.

The suspect and officers were treated for minor cuts from broken glass.
