MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Montgomery Public School board is going green thanks to the adoption of new software.

The board voted on Monday on the new system, which will digitize all announcements, agendas and information.

The documents will then be sent directly to the board member's seats, an upgrade officials say will make a difference.

"We will be able to quickly reference meetings, and be able to get to our policies during a meeting," Tom Salter said. "It's a great way for the board to move into the 21st century."

The board also voted to approve minor changes to the budget of the previous fiscal year to account for any changes.

The annual vote is mandated by the state department of education.
