Toledo Police are
searching for a suspect they say stole a jar of change right out of a child's
hands while he was trying to raise money for his football team.
Kaleb Glass was trying to
raise money outside the G and M Food Mart on Detroit Avenue Tuesday when he was
"There were three guys," the
12-year-old said. "He told me to come over there and they all had money in
their hand. He acted like he was going to put it in the jar and he took it out
of my hands and ran."
Police have identified a
juvenile suspect in the robbery. Evidence was found across the street from the
store at a home on the 1500 block of Nebraska Avenue.
"We do have some leads on
this case," Sgt. Joe Heffernan. "Our police K-9 was able to track the robber to
The owner of G and M Food
Mart, Lewis Babona, says the robbery will not keep him from letting the kids
raise money outside his store. He says he's looking to do anything he can to
"Doing the same thing that
they were doing yesterday, today, and if they want more, they can come tomorrow

The S.T.A.R.S. Football
