MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Fix it and Finish it Team continued their work in Montgomery on Wednesday.

Antonio Sabato Jr., and the Fix it and Finish it crew were at Fred and Nita Johnson's house to renovate a room.

Fred and his son, John, submitted the application, and went through a few interviews before Wednesday. They had an idea the crew might be coming, but didn't know for sure.

"We opened the door this morning, and there was Antonio Sabato, Jr. with Fix it and Finish it," Fred said.

"I felt like a toddler waiting for Christmas," John said. "Once we opened the door, I was jumping up and down, so was he, it was incredible."

Fred and John nominated this house to be a gift to wife and mother Nita, the Owner of Little Red Cupcake.

"We've always wanted to live next to where our business was, and also we want take care of my mom, she is 88," Fred said. "She has dementia and my phone number is the only one she knows."

But the money just didn't stretch far enough.

This place was put on the back burner because of overruns in the cupcake shop budget," Fred said.

Today, however, that changes with a brand new living room.

"They're going to put in new wood floors, ceiling, in the wall fireplace, and they have other surprises for us," John said.

"They're doing stuff that I wouldn't have thought about, or have the tools to accomplish," Fred said.

It is a precious gift to Nita, from her guys.

"I get to, even though I'm not doing the work, I get to present this to my wife, because she deserves it!" Fred said. "Nita is the most awesome wife in the world."

You'll be able to see the finished results when Raycom Media's Fix it and Finish It airs starting in September on WSFA 12 News at 2:30 p.m.
