TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Authorities believe lightning may have sparked the Radio fire currently burning in the Whetstone mountains, southeast of Tucson.

The fire, which has grown to 600 acres, is so far burning only on state land. There are three hand crews and nine engines currently fighting the fire.

Crews fighting the fire may be getting a little extra help from the rain, as well as smaller fires used to rid the area of fuel in the path of the larger fire.
