MCCALLA, AL (WBRC) -

Gregory Singleton, a 61-year-old Army Veteran, has been missing for three days from the McCalla area.

"It's my brother and he's missing. So we really want to find him," an emotional Beverly McCoy said on Friday.

Each day her brother has been missing, McCoy grows more and more worried for a number of reasons.

"He has a mental illness" said McCoy. "He needs his medication. So he's out there and the more days he's out there without his medicine, it's crucial to his health."

McCoy says her brother, 61-year-old Gregory Singleton, is an Army veteran and he has schizophrenia. He's been living with her for three years because of his illness and he also has high blood pressure.

McCoy says on Tuesday morning, her daughter called her at work saying she couldn't find Singleton in the house on Springer Road in McCalla.

"She said the door is unlocked and that's what gave her the idea that he had walked out the door," said McCoy.

McCoy says he's never done this before and he always asks for permission anytime he wants to go outside in the yard.

The family has since searched the area of their McCalla neighborhood.

"I'm just wondering where is he? Where could he be? Did somebody pick him up?" McCoy questioned.

"I wish someone will see the picture, pick up the phone and call police and say I've seen him. And get him back home so he could get his medication."

McCoy says this is terrifying and at this point there's only one thing the family can do.

"Pray. We pray. We asked the Lord to bring him back to us," McCoy said.

Relatives say he recently mentioned he wanted to go to his childhood home in Dolomite. The family has searched there as well.

Singleton stands about 5'9" and weighs about 210 pounds. He left his house wearing a blue jean jacket with a tan leather collar and blue and white tennis shoes.

Please call the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office if you see him.
