3 Selma juveniles in custody on robbery charges

Selma Police Department Officers have arrested 3 juveniles after a robbery at the 1900 block of Main Foster Street at approximately Thursday night.

Officers arrived at the scene around 8:41 p.m. where they met with a 51 year-old black female who reported being robbed in the 1300 block of Highland Ave. The victim stated that she was attempting to enter a restaurant when the 3 black males shoved her.

The victims states the suspects used the door of the establishment as a weapon, slamming it into her right arm to release the grip on her purse, causing bruising and swelling to the arm. The offenders then took off on foot after snatching the purse that held $4,000 dollars in currency in it.

A witness recognized one of the males, who was caught shortly after in the 2300 block of Minter Ave., along with one other offender. The third was later located and arrested.

Only $500 dollars of the reported $4,000 dollars has been recovered.

The suspects were of the ages 16 and 17 and are currently being held at the Dallas Juvenile Detention Center on the charge of robbery 2nd degree.
